Spotted! Edinburgh blogger eyeballs our new carbon neutral letting signs
November 12, 2007
Remember we mentioned the new Grant Management carbon neutral to let signs a few days ago? Well let’s hear it for one of Edinburgh’s most environmentally conscious bloggers who spotted our sign on a property on Leith Walk and was inspired enough to write a post about carbon neutral letting. His blog is called Suitably Despairing and he is committed to highlighting environment issues. He certainly has positive things to say about our stance on carbon neutrality:
They’re called Grant Management, and seem to have their head screwed on about the environment. They offer their staff fresh fruit and fair-trade tea and coffee, and a bicycle allowance if they cycle to work. All their properties are fitted out with energy saving appliances and CFLs, and the tenants are informed of the local recycling schemes.
He goes on to mention Global Trees and the campaign to offset carbon emissions. He concludes:
It’s unusual to find a mainstream company so overwhelmingly embrace a green ethos, but it should definitely be encouraged which is why I’m highlighting them.
We really appreciate it, thanks and keep looking out for those signs!
Blog Action Day and our pledge on Carbon Neutral properties
October 15, 2007
Today is Blog Action Day and bloggers throughout the world are marking it with posts highlighting the desperate need to take action now to protect the planet.
We fully support this. As you know, all our properties are 100% carbon neutral and to underline our position, Peter Grant has written a special Carbon Neutral section for this site, explaining why the company has taken this stance and about his plans for the future.
Our aim now is to plant many millions of trees all around the world. Global Trees is now helping others – both individuals and businesses - to go neutral. Calculate your footprint and take the first steps at Global Trees and Go Neutral Please help us by spreading the word about going neutral and planting trees.
Extra: I am glad to say this blog is also hosted by a 100% carbon neutral company which offsets all of its carbon emissions including the impact of its server centres.
